Rut-Busting

Tags: Blogging
I'm in a Blogging rut, have been for a while. In an attempt to get myself out of it I'm going to start with an announcement: my son started school today. He looked so smart! I tried to remember my first day at school and couldn't remember much but I think it was a bit of a shock (I was looked after at home before starting school). He appeared to take it in his stride though, can't wait to see him tonight and find out how he got on. Professionally I'm really busy but hamstrung in terms of blogging about any of it - stuff is either too mundane or too sensitive. Continuing on the theme of rut-busting I decided I'd write a list of blog topics for future posts: Providing Custom RSS themes for this blog based on Tags (So I can for example provide a specific feed for PlanetLotus) Software I'm using on my Mac these days Reviewing Apple's Aperture 2 Review of hour a day books: Search Engine Optimization and Web Analytics Some recent adventures in SEO Some interesting iPhone applications I spotted recently Try to start a group writing effort to produce a children story which could be podcasted with each author recording their piece in his/her own voice Why I've gone off the BlackBerry Development boil A treatise on the destructive capacity of Labradors and their role in securing world peace through mutually assured destruction So that's what I'd like to be contributing about in the near future. A final rut-buster for today. I happened to be listening to Steven Fry on Radio 4 yesterday in a program about quotations (http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/arts/frys_english.shtml). Apparently many people want to create a timeless quote and be immortalised. It's pretty vein but for fun here's mine: "Before I met xxxxx, my father had begun to believe his only son might be gay. Not longer after meeting her he became profoundly disapointed I wasn't...." Feel free to guess where I used that one. Have you made any memorable quotes in speeches or presentations? TTFN
